Bybit is now a fully licensed crypto exchange in the UAE after receiving a Virtual Asset Platform Operator License from the country’s Securities and Commodities Authority. The full approval was granted eight months after an initial provisional agreement.
This license unlocks the UAE market for Bybit, allowing it to offer its services directly to regional customers. The move is the latest in a series of global regulatory approvals for the exchange, including recent licenses in Austria and India.
Ben Zhou, Bybit’s CEO, called the license a “testament to Bybit’s unwavering commitment to building trust through compliance and transparency.”
The approval comes as the UAE works to unify its crypto regulations, a move that would prevent companies from needing multiple licenses to operate across the region.
