However, due to strong opposition from Congress and other lawmakers, the company halted its plans. Now, Meta is revisiting the crypto space.
According to five sources familiar with the matter, Meta is in talks with crypto firms to introduce stablecoins for managing payouts and has hired a vice president of product with crypto experience to guide these discussions.
These sources, all known to Fortune, requested anonymity to discuss private business dealings.
