Ripple Enters into Association with National Bank of Georgia

Fintech firm Ripple is strengthening its relationship with the Republic of Georgia by exploring ways to digitize the local economy with the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

NBG‘s acting governor Natia Turnava and Varlam Ebanoidze, head of the bank’s department for financial and supervisory technology development, met with Ripple executive James Wallis to discuss further collaboration in the areas of financial technology and digitalization.

The meeting was officially announced by the Georgian central bank on June 8 through a post on LinkedIn.

At the meeting, Wallis, who holds the position of vice president of central bank engagements at Ripple, introduced the Georgian officials to Alistair Brown, a representative of Ripple’s partner EPAM Systems.
