Despite the growing interest from institutional investors, Goldman Sachs has not observed a significant desire among its wealthy clients to purchase Bitcoin.
According to Sharmin Mossavar-Rahmani, the director of investment banking at Goldman Sachs, even the significant increase in BTC’s value in March did not prompt the bank’s clients to shift towards the cryptocurrency.
Mossavar-Rahmani also compared Bitcoin to the tulip mania that swept through Europe 400 years ago. She stated that most wealthy Goldman Sachs clients are not interested in BTC and prefer to avoid it.
She further emphasized, “We do not consider Bitcoin as a legitimate investment asset class. We are skeptical about cryptocurrencies because their true value is difficult to determine.”
