Crypto firm Wintermute is the newest addition to the growing list of cryptocurrency companies expanding into the Asian market.
Upon announcing their move, co-founder Yoann Turpin declared that over the upcoming months, 4% of the firm’s staff would be relocating to Singapore.
This news follows Circle’s success in obtaining a digital-token license in Singapore as well as Gemini’s announcement of hiring more than 100 employees in the region.
FalconX is yet another firm who has expressed its intention of growing in Asia by filing for a digital token license.
To further encourage growth in the digital asset industry, Singapore high courts recently issued an announcement acknowledging crypto as a property capable of being held in a trust.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore even released a white paper containing industry standards for different forms of digital assets. Established in 2017, Wintermute currently provides liquidity across over 50 exchanges, including Coinbase and Kraken, and is also a leading venture investor in the space.
