Coinbase has recently released a TV ad in Washington DC emphasizing the significance of digital assets as a technological development. A longer version was posted on their YouTube page.
The company CEO Brian Armstrong has noted in the video that those who only focus on the mere speculation of cryptocurrencies “miss the forest for the trees.”
He has continued, saying the industry is in a similar early phase to the Internet’s initial stages.
Armstrong has explained cryptocurrency isn’t just a financial product, but also a technology that can improve existing financial products, reducing the time and cost of cross-border payments.
He has also expressed worry that restrictions on cryptocurrency could lead to a national security issue in the US, comparable to the hindrance of semiconductor and 5G technology.
