On March 17-18, a hacker was able to gain access to personal information and funds by remotely downloading a Java application through a service interface used by General Bytes terminals to upload videos to the server.

In response to the incident, General Bytes has shut down its cloud service and suggested that operators switch to standalone servers.

The developers have also released patches to fix the bug that the attacker used and plan to conduct several independent reviews of security systems.

The amount of possible damage and the number of affected users has not yet been disclosed, however the company’s specialists have identified the crypto wallets involved in the attack and the balance of the address in the Bitcoin network is currently 56.3 BTC.
