Unity has added thirteen new software developer kits (SDKs) based on Web3 to its Asset Store, as announced in a press release from the company.
These new Decentralization tools from Algorand, Aptos, Flow, Dapper Labs, Immutable X, MetaMask, Solana, and Tezos will allow game developers to incorporate blockchain technologies, such as NFTs and metaverses, into their projects to enhance the gaming experience.
MetaMask has stated that their SDK can be used to incorporate their crypto wallet directly into the games, so that players can directly interact with the Web3 sector.
MetaMask has said:
“The gaming industry is rapidly expanding, and the Web3 gaming sector is attracting significant investment. Our listing on Unity will provide the gaming industry with the value of Web3. This is a completely new era for game developers.”
In February, Nintendo announced the prerequisites for entering the metaverse market. According to Shuntaro Furukawa, the company’s CEO, this will only be possible if they can provide “amazement and fun” from the gameplay.
