Gary Gensler, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has reaffirmed his stance on crypto regulation. According to him, the industry needs to be controlled in order to ensure the transparency of operations in the crypto sphere.
He has said that particular attention should be paid to the US leadership to protect citizens and companies that have decided to invest part of their capital in digital currencies.
At the same time, the SEC and other supervisory authorities should not “strangle” the blockchain industry. On the contrary, it is necessary to stimulate the introduction of innovations.
The SEC proposes to give startups the right to legally attract investments through the placement of tokens.
