It is not new that the Irish authorities have a negative attitude towards digital currencies and have previously urged citizens not to invest in such instruments.
According to research firm Finder, the share of cryptocurrency investors has noticeably decreased in the country over the past 12 months.
In particular, the company researchers have found that only 10% of Irish residents own digital currencies, whereas last year this figure was 12%.
The fall in the value of digital currencies has negatively affected the attractiveness of the cryptosphere.
