The team of developers behind the Moonbeam project have teamed up with DEX Osmosis to enable the exchange of tokens between the Polkadot and Cosmos ecosystems.
According to the announcement, the infrastructure for the cross-chain solution has been provided by the Axelar protocol.
The project now supports a cross-chain bridge and a smart contract interoperability platform. The first allows users to transfer tokens between networks, and the second allows them to deploy DeFi applications on different blockchains.
Polkadot’s native token, DOT, will be the first ecosystem asset available on Osmosis. Moonbeam expects to expand the list of coins in the future.
