Noah Davies, head of digital art at British auction house Christie’s, plans to join Yuga Labs, the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection.
According to the announcement, he will develop the CryptoPunks collection brand. Yuga Labs acquired in March the intellectual rights to the series tokens.
Davis has also stressed that under his leadership, the company will not promote the tokens through their “shit movie” ads or airdrops.
Last year he was responsible for organizing the auction at Christie’s NFT from Beeple, which was sold for $69.3 million. Due to the passion for non-fungible tokens, Davis was called the “Christie’s NFT guy”.
Yuga Labs has withdrawn this month the smart contract that allowed it to issue an unlimited number of Bored Ape Yacht Club collection tokens. Prior to that, the company has launched a metaverse.
