German electronics retailer Media-Saturn is installing bitcoin ATMs in its stores.
MediaMarktSaturn announced on June 1 that in early May, three Saturn electronics stores in Cologne, Frankfurt and Dortmund started operating cryptocurrencies.
As part of a six-month pilot project, Saturn customers will be able to convert fiat currency into BTC or ETH and load them onto their digital wallets.
Saturn plans to offer its visitors a convenient entrance to the world of cryptocurrencies. According to Christian Stefan, the company’s head of innovation research, demand for cryptocurrencies is growing, especially among tech-savvy retail customers.
The initiative has been developed in collaboration with Kurant, an Austrian leader in the European market for cryptocurrency ATM distribution.
