South Korea-based video game developer Krafton has signed a partnership with Solana Labs.

According to the deal, both companies will jointly develop games using blockchain technology, in particular non-fungible tokens (NFTs), as well as promote projects and invest in them.

Krafton is the developer and distributor of the popular online game PUBG: Battlegrounds. Last year, the company’s revenue reached $1.57 billion.

Johnny Lee, director of business development at Krafton, has said on the agreement:

“We see a growing demand for on-chain gaming from gamers, and companies that respond quickly to this demand will be successful.”

In January 2022, investment in the GameFi sector reached $1 billion, according to Dapp Radar.
