South Korean tech company Samsung has partnered with Theta Labs to give away commemorative, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to purchasers of the Galaxy S22 smartphone or Galaxy Tab S8 tablet. Customers from South Korea who have placed a pre-order will be eligible to receive NFTs.
Theta Labs director and co-founder Mitch Liu has explained NFTs have “permanent membership benefits and perks.” However, he has not disclosed details.
Pre-orders for new Samsung products opened on February 9. The devices will go on sale on February 25.
Theta Labs is behind the blockchain-based decentralized video streaming network Theta Network project. Its users share bandwidth and computing resources.
