Danske Bank Adds Crypto ETPs From BlackRock and WisdomTree Following MiCA Clarity

Danske Bank has begun allowing its retail clients to trade select Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded products, becoming one of the first major Nordic lenders to integrate such instruments into its digital platforms.

The initiative, effective Wednesday and aimed at self-directed investors using eBanking and Mobile Banking, includes three products sponsored by BlackRock and WisdomTree. In its announcement, the bank pointed directly to “improved regulation” under the EU’s Markets in Crypto Assets framework and sustained customer demand as the rationale for the expansion.

All three ETPs are governed by MiFID II disclosure and investor-protection standards, which Danske said offer a compliance-heavy alternative to direct token ownership.

The bank framed the products as a bridge for clients seeking crypto exposure without the operational burden of custody and trading execution. Kerstin Lysholm, who leads investment product strategy at Danske, said the lender has observed a steady rise in inquiries about crypto as portfolio diversification gains traction among ordinary investors.
