Bitwise Asset Management has agreed to acquire institutional staking company Chorus One, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing statements from the firms. The acquisition extends Bitwise’s aggressive push into the cryptocurrency yield-generating services sector.
The deal adds a substantial staking operation to Bitwise’s platform at a time of surging demand. Chorus One’s website shows it currently has about $2.2 billion in assets staked across various decentralized networks. The financial terms were not made public.
This consolidation occurs against a backdrop of remarkable momentum in Ethereum staking. Data reveals a queue of more than 4 million ETH waiting to be staked—a delay exceeding 70 days—while close to 1 million validators now secure the network, demonstrating a willingness to lock assets long-term for yield.
