SEC Approves Bitcoin Options ETFs for CBOE and NYSE

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has given approval for two major US exchanges to launch exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for Bitcoin (BTC) options.

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) have both received the greenlight from the regulatory agency to list options contracts for BTC-based ETFs.

The SEC cited a recent rule change proposal from Nasdaq as a contributing factor to its decision, as it approved the listing of options on the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which proved successful.

In their statements, the SEC stated that allowing the listing of these options would promote competition and improve transparency and efficiency in the markets for these products and their related assets.
