Oregon Suspends Binance.US’ License

Oregon has joined the ranks of states that have refused Binance.US’ license to operate within their borders, making it the sixth state to do so this year.

The state’s division of financial regulation announced on April 30 that they had revoked Binance.US’ license, rendering the exchange unable to receive money or transact with Oregon consumers.

This decision was made due to the former CEO Changpeng Zhao’s involvement in felonies, which violated anti-money laundering laws.

Other states to make similar moves were Florida, Alaska, North Carolina, Maine, and Connecticut, with the latter suspending Binance.US’ license on April 24.

Binance.US had also not received licenses in New York, Texas, Vermont, and Hawaii. Although the exchange states on one page of its website that it is not available in Georgia and Ohio, another page claims that it has licenses there.
