Hitachi and Concordium Join Forces to Develop a Crypto Wallet

Reading time: < 1 minute

Hitachi’s research division and the Concordium Foundation, a blockchain developer, have teamed up to work on a project that aims to create a biometric cryptocurrency wallet.

This wallet is expected to use a fingerprint or iris scan to generate seed phrases, eliminating the need for users to remember or store a set of words.

Additionally, the wallet will allow users to import or restore their accounts onto new devices using biometric authentication. In the initial phase, the partners will conduct a “proof of technology” to test the feasibility of the concept.

If the project progresses to a wallet implementation, it will make use of Hitachi’s existing Public Biometric Infrastructure platform and identity system on the Concordium network.
