Vivek Ramaswamy, a candidate in the ongoing US election, recently shared his thoughts on the Justice Department’s accusations against Binance.

He criticized the current regulation of the crypto industry, stating that it is not keeping up with the times and allowing fraudsters, criminals, and terrorists to deceive people.

Ramaswamy specifically pointed out Sam Bankman-Fried’s success with FTX as proof that the current regulations are unworkable.

He also took aim at Gary Gensler, the head of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), for his inability to answer a question about the classification of Ethereum as a security during a recent congressional hearing.

The politician attributed this to government overreach and stated that if elected President, he would reduce the number of employees at the SEC and ease regulations on digital assets.

Meanwhile, another candidate in the election, Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., pledged to protect Bitcoin, emphasizing the importance of financial freedom in the same way as freedom of speech.

He also expressed doubts about central bank digital currencies (CBDC), believing that they could be used by governments to monitor the financial transactions of individuals. He has previously criticized CBDC multiple times.
