Bastion, a new company in the cryptocurrency industry founded by former executives of Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), has recently been granted two money transmitter licenses (MTL) in the United States.
According to an announcement made on October 31, Bastion has obtained MTLs in New Hampshire and Arkansas, making them the first two licenses acquired by the company.
These licenses, issued by the New Hampshire Banking Department and Arkansas Securities Department, allow Bastion to provide services for fungible digital assets within those states.
The company also stated that they have pending applications for MTLs in other states in the US. By acquiring these licenses, Bastion is now able to engage in activities such as selling or issuing payment instruments, storing value, providing prepaid access, and receiving money and digital currency to facilitate transactions in the states.
These licenses can be verified on the official website of the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
