Do Kwon Will Face Montenegro Justice Before Extradition

Mark Kovac, Justice Minister of Montenegro, has said that before any international extradition process begins, Do Kwon will have his day in court and potentially face jail time in the country.

Kwon was arrested last month while trying to board a private jet with forged documents, and his initial 72-hour detention has been extended to 30 days.

The US and South Korea have both requested his extradition, but local criminal proceedings take precedence over those requests.

The minister has noted that several factors are taken into consideration when deciding which extradition request takes precedence, such as the severity of the offense and when the request was submitted.
