The US House just greenlit three major crypto bills—CLARITY, GENIUS, and the Anti-CBDC Act—after weeks of back-and-forth over digital dollar concerns. The votes weren’t even close for the first two, but the CBDC ban squeaked by (219-210).
Republicans had pushed hard for the package as part of their “crypto week,” but some last-minute drama erupted when a few GOP holdouts demanded stronger anti-CBDC language.
Still, with surprising Democratic support (shoutout to the 80+ Dems who backed CLARITY), the bills are now one step closer to law before Congress dips out for August.
