The SEC has released its first disclosure rules for cryptocurrency ETFs, setting the stage for potential approvals of funds tied to Solana, XRP, and even a Trump-themed meme coin.
The move reflects a shift under Republican leadership, with the agency pausing enforcement actions and forming a task force to draft clearer regulations. Further streamlining could accelerate ETF launches, sources say.
“The SEC is finally addressing the crypto ETF backlog,” noted CF Benchmarks’ CEO. Bitwise’s Matt Hougan added: “The guidance itself is the breakthrough.”
