Coinbase is facing a series of legal challenges following a significant data breach. This incident, which compromised sensitive user information, resulted in at least six lawsuits filed from May 15 to May 16.
These lawsuits claim that Coinbase failed to implement proper security measures to protect user data and poorly managed the breach’s aftermath.
One lawsuit, filed by Paul Bender in a New York federal court on May 16, alleges that Coinbase did not adequately protect the personal information of millions during the breach.
The compromised data included names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, partial Social Security numbers, some bank account details, driver’s licenses, passports, and account information such as balance snapshots and transaction history.
