Bitcoin has reached a new milestone, achieving its highest-ever weekly close as bullish momentum drives the cryptocurrency market.
Closing just below $106,500 on May 18, Bitcoin surpassed its previous record from December 2024, when it ended the week at around $104,400, according to TradingView data.
This rally marks six consecutive weeks of gains for the world’s largest cryptocurrency. Over the weekend, Bitcoin approached its all-time high of $109,358, recorded on January 20. Currently, it trades around $104,730, just under 3% from its peak.
Cointelegraph reported that on May 18, the digital asset also recorded its highest-ever daily closing price. Although not the largest one-day increase, this new high is technically significant.
