The Ergo blockchain platform team has revealed that CoinMarketCap, a cryptocurrency data aggregator, requires payment for any changes relating to an asset on their website.
The team had approached the service administration to correct inaccurate market supply information for their coin, but were presented with a form that included a clause stating that a payment of $5,000 was required for thee changes.
This has raised doubts about the accuracy of data providedx by CoinMarketCap.
The platform itself has not yet responded to this situation. It should be noted that earlier in January, the SaTT and TokenBot projects had accused CoinMarketCap of carrying out fake airdrops.
They alleged that the system may have been manipulated as the assets meant for distribution to a larger number of users were limited to a few addresses instead.
