Connext will be launching their native token, NEXT, on September 5. It will be available on Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism and Gnosis Chain.
According to the plan, holders of NEXT will have staking capabilities, as well as governance control of “fair use of routers” and support for new networks and assets under the DAO.
For future seeders to gain access to the token without having to use bridges and pay additional fees, Connext entered a partnership with Tokensoft, airdrop company.
The xERC20 token standard will also be used to facilitate transfers between blockchains without slippage.
Connext first introduced NEXT back in April 2022 and announced the formation of the DAO at the same time. As a means of furthering progress, the project unveiled the Amarok update in February and subsequently raised $7.5 million in June at a valuation of $250 million.
