Coinbase’s Base mainnet is now open to the public, offering a diverse selection of over 100 dapps and service providers within the Base ecosystem.
Users can delve into these dapps, benefiting from reduced transaction fees and faster speeds than Ethereum. Jesse Pollak, Coinbase’s protocols lead, emphasized the integration of Base with various crypto projects, including DeFi protocols, wallets, bridges, oracles, and analytical and infrastructure providers.
Base, built on Optimism’s OP Stack, operates as a rollup network, processing transactions off the Ethereum blockchain to create a more cost-effective environment for dapps.
This Layer 2 solution is poised to become Coinbase’s primary network for on-chain products. Pollak expressed excitement about the launch, highlighting the numerous dapps and service providers available in the Base ecosystem and its tight integration with the Coinbase product ecosystem.
