Lightning Network’s Capacity Reaches Peak Levels

The capacity of Bitcoin’s micropayment network Lightning Network has reached peak levels in both cryptocurrency and dollar terms.

On June 24, the number topped out at 5,620 BTC (which is equivalent to about $172 million). In the past year, both this number and its fiat equivalent have increased by 42% and 105%, respectively.

The earlier peak was marked on April 18, with 5,620 BTC being the high. Since the start of the year, a few major industry players have stepped up and declared their implementation of the protocol.
